Ronald J. Craft became interested in books at a young age. While growing up, he studied martial arts became accustomed to working with different types of weapons. He also spent time working with a family blacksmith and researching medieval times. He owns a variety of weapons, including swords and chain mail, and uses these experiences to fuel his own writing.

After graduating from high school, Ronald spent six years in the U.S. Air Force before settling into a full time job as a system administrator. He works on his writing in his free time.
