Rick Kennett is a life-long resident of Melbourne, where he works in the transport industry.

His stories have appeared in Aurealis, Andromeda Spaceways, Weird Tales, and in several anthologies including Terror Australis, Year’s Best Fantasy & Horror, and More Great Ghost Stories. He is co-author with A.F. (Chico) Kidd of 472 Cheyne Walk: Carnacki, the Untold Stories (Ash Tree Press 2002). A new ‘Carnacki’ story appears in Gaslight Grimoire: Fantastic Tales of Sherlock Holmes (Edge Books 2008). He includes naval history and wandering cemeteries (necrotourism) as interests.

"The Dark and What It Said" originally appeared in Andromeda Spaceways In-Flight Magazine #28 and is reprinted in the 2008 edition (Volume 4) of The Year’s Best Australian Science Fiction& Fantasy. It won this year’s Australian Science Fiction Achievement Award (the ‘Ditmar’) for Best Short Story of 2007.

Master of Ceremonies Stephen Studach is known as the ideas man of dark fiction. A writer, poet, editor, and reviewer, he has recently appeared in The Willows, The Harrow, Black Box, and Borderlands and has two stories in the Paroxysm Press anthology Ten Years of Things that Didn’t Kill Us. His fiction appears in the premier number of Midnight Echo as well as a series of groundbreaking interviews entitled "New Blood;" Stephen will also be guest editing the third issue.

Stephen reviews books at ChiZine and books, films and the occasional magazine at HorrorScope. This year his story "The Dead End" placed in the top four entries in the AHWA short story competition. He has also received honourable mentions in The Writers of The Future competition and placed in the top eight works in last year’s 13th Chiaroscuro Short Story competition. He has received several honourable mentions in The Year’s Best Fantasy & Horror.
