“No matter how bright the sun would shine, Michael Waley always sensed a dark cloud hovering above him.”

Today David Schembri, who read “Why Did the Children Scream” for us in 2005, joins us for “The Tuning of Hex.” After the story, David and I talk writing.

David’s first outing as a writer was his appearance on the Writing Show in 2005, where he read an excerpt from his novel Mercy’s End. Since then, David’s shorter stories have been published in The Horror Day Anthology, issues 7 and 9 of Ripples magazine, Black Box , and FlashSpec Volume 2, an anthology of speculative flash fiction published by Equilibrium Books. David was also on the judging panel at the Australian Shadows Awards in 2006.

He lives, shadowed by the mountains of Victoria, with his lovely wife and son, and their two cats, who both seem determined to make each others’ lives a living hell…
