A few weeks ago, we heard a contrarian opinion from author Jeff DeRego about the advisability of self-publishing. We got so much response to that show that we’ve put together a panel to weigh in on the self- vs. traditional publishing issue.

Jeffrey R. DeRego is a “know it all loudmouth” currently living in Derry, NH (one time home of both America’s poet, Robert Frost, and America’s first man to orbit the earth, Alan Shepard!). He has a wife, Cindy; two amazing kids, Ian and Margaret; two cats; and one horse. Jeff is the author of the Union Dues series of stories, among others, available for free download from Escape Pod. He also writes under the pseudonym Big McLargehuge for Horrorview.com. Jeff is an instructional designer and editor for a telecommunications training company.

Stacie Penney resides in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with her husband, two sons, two dogs and possibly a pair of ducks, should they decide to return this year. She’s a reader, an Excel geek wanna-be, a mom, a wife, a writer, and a blogger. Some days she wears all the hats. Others, she prays to make it through. In between dishes, laundry and researching Oshkosh’s night life, she’s stealing time to finish her next novel. Raspberry-Latte.blogspot.com is the best way to catch-up with her.

Matthew Wayne Selznick is an author, noted podcaster, and advocate for the DIY (do it yourself) ethic. He is the host of Writers Talking, a live roundtable podcast featuring independent and small press fiction authors talking shop and answering listener questions. Matthew’s first book, Brave Men Run - A Novel of the Sovereign Era, enjoys worldwide popularity and was the first novel to enjoy a simultaneous release in paperback, DRM-free e-book, and free podcast editions. He is currently writing the next Sovereign Era book, Pilgrimage.

Join Jeff, Stacie, Matt, and host Paula B. as they debate the merits and drawbacks of traditional and self-publishing.

Take a look at http://instabook-corporation.com a self publisher website that also provides shipping, listing in an online database, and printing. You may find it revolutionary and it may help raise your opinion of self publishing. .
